Right Now Group is currently partnered with a leading international software and technology solutions provider, closely aligned with the engineering and automation sectors. We're recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing technical support team.

This role is ideal for those with hands-on experience in electromechanical systems, technical field support, or IT-integrated hardware servicing. If you come from a background in electrical, mechanical, or digital systems maintenance, we want to hear from you.

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Plymouth (field-based)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Hours: 40 hours/week (flexible), 5 days over 7 (time and a half for weekends)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Requirements: Full UK driving license (company van provided)

Training: Full product and systems training provided

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support and fault resolution for hardware/software-integrated systems
  • Execute preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across client systems and infrastructure
  • Carry out installations, commissioning, and upgrades of electromechanical or embedded IT systems
  • Maintain accurate technical records, service reports, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and best practices in field support
  • Support ongoing improvements in customer system performance and reliability
  • Contribute to service metrics, incident tracking, and monthly reporting workflows

Ideal Background / Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Technician, or IT Support Engineer
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or mechatronic systems
  • Hands-on experience with any of the following is highly valued:
  • ATM / EPOS / Kiosk / Gaming machine servicing
  • Digital parking systems, access control, or vending technologies
  • Assembly and configuration of embedded or smart hardware systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware and basic software
  • Comfortable working independently in the field, with strong customer-facing communication
  • Flexible and adaptable to a rotating schedule including some weekends
