Role Summary - Export Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Manager - Exports is responsible for leading a busy airfreight export operation, ensuring that all cargo is processed, screened, and dispatched efficiently, compliantly, and on time. This is a hands-on management position overseeing the export warehouse and screening teams in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and performance while driving continual improvement across warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities - Export Warehouse Manager
- Manage and develop the export warehouse and screening team, ensuring strong performance, accuracy, and compliance at all times.
- Oversee all export freight movements, ensuring shipments are screened, manifested, and dispatched in line with airfreight and aviation security regulations.
- Take a hands-on approach within the warehouse - including forklift driving, load checks, and support during peak periods.
- Ensure the warehouse layout, space utilisation, and cargo flow are optimised for efficiency.
- Maintain and enforce strict health & safety standards and safe working practices.
- Liaise with clients, airlines, handling depots, and internal departments to ensure service excellence.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet export volumes and service levels.
- Monitor team performance and provide training, coaching, and corrective action where required.
- Produce clear operational reports, ensuring all KPIs are tracked and achieved.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Support the General Manager with strategic and operational initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications - Export Warehouse Manager
- Minimum 5 years' experience in airfreight export warehouse operations, ideally within a fast-moving logistics or cargo environment.
- Proven management or supervisory experience in a warehouse or airfreight export setting.
- Forklift licence and practical experience are essential - the role requires hands-on warehouse involvement.
- Strong working knowledge of aviation security procedures.
- Excellent understanding of export documentation, cargo handling, and airline/handler requirements.
- Able to work effectively under pressure, with strong prioritisation and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, team-oriented leadership style.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a focus on compliance.
Special Conditions / Requirements
- Flexibility with working hours is essential in support of a 24/7 operation.
- Core hours: 10:00 - 19:00, with flexibility to meet operational demands.
