Right Now Group is currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for a global leader in IT asset disposition, redeployment and recycling.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be deployed on‑site with customers to perform hands‑on work with IT hardware-installing, decommissioning, redeploying, asset‑tracking, data sanitisation, physical destruction and/or refurbishment. You will ensure our services are delivered efficiently, securely and with a high level of customer satisfaction.

This role will involve driving a company van so a full licence is required. The role also involves a lot of travel to Europe including overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites (data centres, corporate IT facilities, enterprise offices) to carry out onsite tasks such as asset removal, deinstallation, packing & shipping, redeployment, data wiping/secure destruction, refurbishment work, staging equipment.
  • Install and commission hardware (servers, storage, network gear, racks, cables) when redeploying equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues on site (refurbishment, replacement of components, testing, quality checks).
  • Execute secure data destruction tasks (via physical or electronic methods) in compliance with customer contracts.
  • Perform asset tracking, labelling, documentation, using mobile/field systems to capture status, location, condition, serial numbers.
  • Maintain service logs, SLA reporting, travel documentation, timesheets, site access records.
  • Coordinate with internal operations, logistics, ITAD and project teams to ensure smooth on‑site execution and hand‑over.
  • Meet health & safety, data‑security, environmental, export‑compliance and site access requirements.
  • Carry a company vehicle and van stock of tools/consumables; maintain vehicle and equipment in working order.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Basic understanding of IT equipment and common tech terminology.
  • Mechanically inclined - able to perform basic repairs and handle equipment with care.
  • Willing to travel regularly, including overnight stays. EU travel may be required (valid passport essential). All travel, accommodation, and meal expenses are fully covered.

For the right candidate there will be opportunity to be trained as a Class 2 Driver.
