Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Air Import Operator to join our client, a well-established freight forwarding and logistics business based in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to work in a professional, customer-focused environment, managing air import shipments from start to finish, including customs clearance, while delivering high service levels to key customers.
Key Responsibilities - Air Import Operator
Manage air import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
Liaise with customers, overseas agents, airlines, and internal teams via email and telephone.
Receive and process bookings from clients and agents.
Make airline bookings and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely movement of freight.
Complete all operational and administrative documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
Perform customs clearance activities in line with regulatory requirements.
Operate company systems, including CargoWise, ensuring data accuracy at all times.
Generate sales invoices accurately and process costs, accruals, and purchase invoices.
Handle non-conformities promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and product integrity.
Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, including aviation security and Dangerous Goods (where applicable).
Support the wider operations team in meeting daily KPIs and service-level targets.
Provide holiday and absence cover when required.
Skills and Experience Required - Air Import Operator
Minimum of 2 years' experience in air import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
Strong understanding of air import procedures, customs processes, and documentation requirements.
Experience working with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding systems.
Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and pharmaceutical freight is advantageous.
Dangerous Goods knowledge or certification is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
What's on Offer - Air Import Operator
Salary: €45,000 - €52,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Shift: Day shift
Hours: 09:00 - 17:30
Location: Dublin
