Air Export Clerk

Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Air Export Clerk on behalf of a growing international eCommerce & Courier Freight Forwarder based near Heathrow.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, close-knit export team, taking ownership of international airfreight shipments from start to finish. Working within a fast-paced operation, you'll coordinate export shipments, customs documentation, airline bookings, and overseas communications to ensure freight moves efficiently across a global network.

The business specialises in eCommerce and courier freight, handling high volumes of time-critical shipments to destinations including the USA, Singapore, and worldwide. This role offers excellent autonomy, exposure to international logistics, and the opportunity to develop your career within a growing freight forwarding business.

Key Responsibilities of an Air Export Clerk

• Manage international air export shipments from booking through to final departure.
• Complete export customs entries and prepare all export documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices and customs declarations.
• Issue pre-alerts and shipping documentation to overseas agents, ensuring shipments continue moving efficiently through destination networks.
• Liaise with airlines, transport providers, warehouse teams, overseas agents and customers to coordinate export shipments.
• Monitor live shipments, resolve operational issues and provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Ensure all export activities comply with HMRC regulations, aviation security requirements and company procedures.

Skills & Experience Required for an Air Export Clerk

• Previous experience within Air Export operations in a freight forwarding environment.
• Experience managing air export shipments from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of export customs procedures and export documentation.
• Experience completing export customs entries and airline bookings.
• Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately within a fast-paced, time-critical environment.

Salary & Benefits for an Air Export Clerk

• Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience).
• Location: Heathrow.
• Hours: Monday to Friday with a choice of permanent afternoon/evening shifts:
  • 14:00 - 22:30
  • 15:30 - 00:00
  • Alternative permanent shift patterns may be considered for the right candidate.
